Hello my dearies!

Hi all,

I am so happy with the warm welcome you all have bestowed on me. I have missed writing about Arshi as much as you have missed my FFs on them. I think most of you read on IF and probably a few silent readers who are aware of my blog.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments. Some of you take pains to write detailed comments and some keep it simple. But they are all very heartwarming. As always it is exciting for me to see when you discuss and speculate about the story.

To make it a little more interesting I have started a closed group on my Author FB page where I am thinking of sharing a little trivia about my updates. A few readers are already in the group. I would like it if more of you could join and make this a fun interaction.

So looking forward to a few friend requests --

  2. Omg Kavi! What a fantastic surprise to see you here. As always it’s such a treat to read what you write. You always paint such a detailed picture with careful consideration to the tiniest nuances of the characters.
As is always the case, Sea Mist is very intriguing and pulls the reader in and leaving them wanting more......

  4. Amidst the lockdown madness, I was looking for a nice read to divert my mind....and logged into IF after ages...I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a new FF by you...was so excited!
Desert rose is my most favorite FF ever...I have read it so many times, I almost know it by heart. Monsoon Rain, Harvest Moon, Valley of Flowers also were wonderful stories and I have read them multiple times...I bought Monsoon Rain on Amazon

Sea mist has the most intricate plot amongst your stories...the mystery, the investigation around Payal..and an unexpected climax....it was like watching a romantic thriller suspense movie...and you tied all the threads up neatly at the end...everything fell into place.

I dabble in writing myself, some amateur FF etc. I am in awe of how you manage to transport us to different locales and immerse us in the local culture...whether it was Katariasar, Coorg, Punjab or Uttarakhand...and it was South Canara this time...I could see the my husband studied in that area and has told me such wonderful things...now after reading your descriptions, I am surely keen to visit..

The romance is always so well depicted.. .just wraps me up in a warm, fuzzy feeling... the little things, tiny details like Arnav pinning her saree blouse, Khushi applying the rash cream...the way he always looks out for her, the way she understands him and doesn’t judge him..

Was heartwarming to see the familiar, recurring themes from your stories...like Khushi/Arnav meeting in the prologue and the timeline jumping by several years in chapter 1...Manav-Anjali jodi, Shyam the eternal bad guy... I don’t know how you manage to keep true to these core elements...in different narratives, with different settings, but still blend in all the characters and incidents so well with the story.

I would say that some elements of the plot were confusing...Nandita was mentioned vaguely/suddenly and it was not clear as to when she had gone missing...
there was too much explanation around what the other characters were up to, when Arnav was resucing Khushi from the toilet in the jungle, could’ve been simple..
I couldn’t understand the purpose of Ramya’s character...I also wish that all the names of the boys from Payal’s group - Rakesh, Rahul, Rishabh etc didn’t begin with R ....I kept mixing them up...I am trying to give constructive feedback, hoping to help you understand a reader’s perspective..no offense intended at all!!! I love your writing and your stories....if I were a rich bollywood producer or if I worked for Ekta Kapoor, I would snap up the copyright to all your stories and make movies or TV shows...which I am sure will be huge hits!

I see you have started another new story and I am looking forward to reading it...

    Cheers
